Southwest Truck Driver Training in Phoenix, AZ
Southwest Truck Driver Training has been putting Arizona CDL drivers on the road since 1999. Our Phoenix campus is where serious training happens: hands-on, instructor-led, and built around one goal. Getting you ready to drive professionally and earn a living you can count on.
We’re not a corporation. We’re a family-owned school founded by a truck driver who knew what real training looked like. That standard hasn’t changed. And at our Phoenix campus, you’ll feel it from the moment you walk in. When you come through our doors, you’ll see our philosophy posted right at the entrance:
The Phoenix campus trains over 1,000 students every year. Behind that number are working drivers across Maricopa County who came in without a CDL and left with a career. That is what this campus was built to do.
“We believe that our school centers around you, the student.”
That’s not a tagline. It’s how we run this campus every single day.

CDL Programs at Our Phoenix Campus
Our Phoenix campus offers the full range of CDL programs, from first time students earning their Class A to licensed drivers adding endorsements or refreshing their skills. Whatever your starting point, we have a program built for it.
Class A CDL Training
A Class A CDL is the most versatile license in commercial trucking. It qualifies you to haul freight, operate combination vehicles, and pursue the highest-paying driving careers in the industry.
At our Phoenix campus, you’ll train on a late-model fleet of commercial trucks — the same type of equipment you’ll operate on the job. Your instructors have real-world driving experience, and they’ll take you through everything: pre-trip inspections, backing maneuvers, city driving, and interstate travel. You’ll be road-ready when you finish.
Class B CDL Training
A Class B CDL opens the door to steady, local work throughout the Phoenix metro area. Bus driving, straight trucks, local delivery — these are consistent, home-daily careers that keep you close to your family and your community.
Our Phoenix instructors will walk you through every skill you need to pass your CDL exam and perform confidently on the job from day one.
Additional Training at our Phoenix Campus
Already have your CDL? Our Phoenix campus also offers:
- Endorsement Training — Add HazMat, Passenger, or School Bus endorsements and increase what you can earn.
- CDL Refresher Training — Sharpen your existing skills or meet employer requirements with a focused refresher program.
- RV Training — Personal or professional RV operation training for drivers who want to handle larger vehicles with confidence.
What to Expect at the Phoenix Campus
Walking onto our Phoenix campus for the first time, you’ll notice a few things right away.
The training yard is large and well-maintained. The trucks are late-model and professionally kept. The instructors are experienced — people who’ve driven the roads themselves and know exactly what it takes to succeed out there.
You won’t get lost in the crowd here. Our instructors know their students by name, not by student ID. If you’re struggling with a maneuver, someone will work with you until you get it right. If you have questions, you’ll get straight answers.
