Phoenix Truck Driving School
Southwest Truck Driver Training is a driving school that is not owned by a trucking company. Why does that matter? We are student focused and not worried about filling up OUR trucks. Our goal is to train exceptional drivers and assist them in finding the job placement THEY want. Come visit & tour our Phoenix campus today.
At our Phoenix school location, you have the options of earning your CDL Class A & B license, along with RV driver training and refresher courses. If you are a veteran, please visit our military page to learn about the POST 9/11 GI Bill® and how we are here to serve you.
At Southwest Truck Driver Training, we offer a lifetime job placement assistance program for all our successful graduates. We are here to ensure you receive the best training and education with the tools for you to succeed in your career for a lifetime. No matter how long ago you graduated from our school, we are here to help you find the next job in your trucking career.
About Our Phoenix Campus
If you're considering a career in trucking and you live in the Phoenix area, you're in luck: Our campus offers something that's almost unheard of in the industry—the chance to launch a career in just four weeks. That's right. One month from the day you take your first class, you could be climbing into the cab of a truck as an employee earning $45,000 a year or more, or $18, $19, $20 an hour and up.
The campus has an excellent record of success, with between 500–600 students completing one of our programs every year. About 94% of our students not only graduate and earn a license but find a job shortly after completing their training.
The campus itself is less than five years old, with brand-new facilities and state-of-the-art classrooms, sound systems, equipment, and learning materials. Our trucks, too, are the real thing. You won't get your training aboard an obsolete vehicle that's 20 or 25 years old like you would at so many other schools. Our trucks are low-mileage vehicles—full sleeper trucks with 53-foot trailers, just like the kind you'll be issued when you begin your career. Also, we train on both automatic and manual transmissions—another rarity in the industry.
When it's time to look for work, we'll be by your side. Unlike so many other schools, we're not owned by a trucking company, so you can shop your talent and training around to different employers who are in dire need of qualified drivers. We invite some of the most respected companies in the country to recruit right at our Phoenix truck-driving school. We work with both local and over-the-road carriers, and our campus, in conjunction with those in Las Vegas and Tucson, hosts as many as six job fairs per year.
At our CDL school in Phoenix, you'll learn from the best. All of our instructors are state-certified examiners with at least three years of over-the-road experience—most have five or more years under their belts. Whether you're pursuing a Class A CDL, a Class B license, RV training, a school bus or coach endorsement, or training for work in a HazMat, tanker, double or triple, you can't do better than our Phoenix campus.
When you train with us, you'll receive job assistance for the rest of your life. Our loyalties lie only with our students and graduates, and our success depends on your success.

"Love this school… teachers and instructors are very knowledgeable and helpful. I recommend this school to anyone wanting to get their CDL. THANKS SOUTHWEST!"
"School was awesome! You learn the basics. It's enough to get your license. That's all you need. The rest is up to you to find a job using your own due diligence and the school's employer resource list for Local and OTR. Would recommend the school to everyone. My instructors were Bill and Louie. They taught the night class that I was enrolled in. Thanks for the good teaching, guys!"
"The school taught me everything I needed to know about trucking. The instructors and staff are great. Adam was my driving instructor, and when I tell you he is the BEST…!!!!! He is EXTREMELY patient and teaches in a way that everyone gets it. I had trouble with parallel parking and he NEVER gave up on me. He worked with me patiently until I got it. Also Darlene, his boss, NEVER gave up on me. She also took time away from her busy day to help me with my struggles. Steve, the director, is also very supportive and helps you relax. Ken was also an OUTSTANDING instructor! These instructors are funny and make learning easy and fun. If you're looking to get your CDL go to Southwest Truck Driving school."
