At Southwest Truck Driver Training’s North Las Vegas campus, we prioritize our students. As an independent truck driving school not owned or operated by a trucking carrier, we focus on education, not recruiting company drivers.

At our North Las Vegas school location, you can earn your Class A or Class B CDL, get a HAZMAT endorsement, or complete a CDL refresher course. You can even take RV driver training lessons. We are a registered Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) training provider through the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Southwest Truck Driver Training graduates can take advantage of our lifetime Career Services assistance program. So whether you graduated from our school 20 years ago or 20 months ago, we are here to help you navigate your trucking career.

Our driving school in Las Vegas is family-owned and operated, and our instructors are state-certified. You’ll get personalized instruction, especially with our favorable student-to-teacher ratio in the behind-the-wheel portion of your training.

We use modern, low-mileage trucks and offer manual and automated manual transmissions for training so students learn valuable skills on different types of equipment. Our Class A vehicles are full sleeper tractors with 53-foot trailers — similar to what you'd drive professionally in an over-the-road (OTR) job.

When you train with SWTDT, you'll benefit from our industry partnerships. Our reputation for turning talented students into qualified drivers attracts top fleet carriers as well as regional employers. As a result, we welcome some of the biggest and most respected trucking companies in the U.S. to recruit our students and graduates.

We have relationships with leading trucking companies. Our partners include May Trucking, Werner Enterprises, Covenant Transport, Swift Transportation, and Schneider National. We also work with over 100 local carriers and employers, so let us help you find the right place to drive!

We also host several job fairs yearly to help our students find work. Aided by our career services and connections, Southwest Truck Driver Training students can attend school and go on to get a job with a starting salary averaging approximately $45,000 ($20 per hour) in a matter of weeks. The market for Class A CDL drivers continues to be hot, with rising salaries, especially for drivers who can demonstrate 6 months or a year of safe driving experience.

With Southwest Truck Driver Training’s commercial driving programs, you could be conducting pre-trip preparations as a newly minted Class A or Class B driver on your inaugural route or over-the-road run in just four weeks.

Every year, nine out of 10 of our students (roughly 350-450 drivers) finish school, earn their licenses, and find work not long after they graduate. Many even start the employment process while still finishing school and have a job waiting for them upon graduation and licensure.

Student Reviews for Southwest Truck Driver Training - North Las Vegas Campus

See what our students have to say about our North Las Vegas campus and instructors! (Comments may have been edited for punctuation and brevity.)

"I just got my CDL with triples and tankers endorsements from this school. The training was outstanding—trainers take their time to teach you the way it’s supposed to be. In my stay they treated me like family. I can definitely recommend this school if you want to succeed in the trucking industry. Thank you Steve, Joey, Alicia, Jerry, and everyone who made this possible."
- Luis Velasquez

"Amazing. So helpful and encouraging… looking forward to class."
- Jessica Martinez

"Fast pace, so you need to catch on to everything quick. I enjoyed my experience here and had a great time and learned almost everything within just a 4-week span. Shout out to my instructor Tee! Awesome dude, and he really knows what he’s doing. Dude taught me the the right way to parallel park and my offset backing. Thanks Tee!"
- Taylor Kekoa Apana

"Great school from the begining to the end. I had no knowledge about trucking when I walked in, and I walked out with my CDL and vast of knowledge. Jerry, my classroom instructor—awesome guy. Alicia, my range instructor—no words to describe her knowledge when it comes to teaching. I passed my skills because of her techniques! If you ever get Alicia as your instructor (manual), pay attention to what she says, because she is awesome. Joe, the supervisor—great guy! Eli, as our school director, is a guy who listens to the students. I would definetely recommend this school."
- Gonzalo Canseco

"Appreciation goes out to Beth for working with us… she is very kind and gracious. Parallel parking was a struggle and was going to be the giving-up part, but she truly provided the motivation. This is fast-paced so PAY ATTENTION and don't waste your own time and money. John refuses to let his students fail, he really helps you to gather your thoughts and believe in yourself."
