Las Vegas Truck Driving School
Southwest Truck Driver Training is a driving school that is not owned by a trucking company. Why does that matter? We are student focused and not worried about filling up OUR trucks. Our goal is to train exceptional drivers and assist them in finding the job placement THEY want. Come vist our Las Vegas campus today.
At our North Las Vegas school location, you have several options for earning your CDL in the Class A or Class B, a passenger bus or completing a CDL refresher course, hazmat endorsement, or RV driver training course. We are approved to provide Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) through the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
At Southwest Truck Driver Training, we offer a lifetime Career Services assistance program for all our successful graduates. We are here to ensure you receive the best training and education with the tools for you to succeed in your career for a lifetime. Whether you graduated from our school 20 years ago or as recently as a few months, we are here to help you find the next job in your trucking career.
About Our Las Vegas Campus
Our Las Vegas campus represents SWTDT's expansion out of Arizona and into the larger Southwest as a regional force. If you're looking for a CDL school in Las Vegas, we'll get you trained, working, and driving in the most efficient way possible.
In just four weeks you could be making your first pre-trip preparations as a Class A or Class B driver on your inaugural route or over-the-road run. Nine out of 10 of our students, about 350 to 450 aspiring drivers every year, not only complete our program but earn their licenses and find work just a short time after they graduate with many starting the employment process while they are still in school. Drivers earn an average of $45,000 a year, the equivalent of $20 an hour, starting salary right out of school. Sometimes even more!
Our driving school in Las Vegas is family-owned and operated and our instructors are state-certified. We never have more than four students per instructor during the hands-on portion of your training, so you will get personalized instruction. Unlike so many schools that train their students on out of date, old vehicles, we use newer, low-mileage trucks. Our class A vehicles are full sleeper tractors with 53-foot trailers, just like the ones you will most likely drive when you start your career. We also stand out for providing real-world, hands-on training on both Manuals and Automated Manual transmissions. Many truck driving schools cannot say the same.
Driving Jobs in Las Vegas
We are not owned by a trucking company, so our allegiance is only to our student. When you train with SWTDT, you will benefit from our relationships. Some of the biggest and and most respected trucking companies in America and in some cases across the entire North American continent are eager for the chance to present to our students because of our reputation for turning talented students into capable, qualified drivers. We welcome these companies as well as others to recruit to our students and graduates and our North Las Vegas campus holds several job fairs each year.
Our Partners Include
May Trucking, Werner Enterprises, Covenant Transport, Swift Transportation, DOT Transportation and Schneider National. They are all employee-first companies, which is why we invite them to recruit on our campuses. We also work with over 100 Local carriers and employers so let us help you find the right place to drive!

"I just got my CDL with triples and tankers endorsements from this school. The training was outstanding—trainers take their time to teach you the way it’s supposed to be. In my stay they treated me like family. I can definitely recommend this school if you want to succeed in the trucking industry. Thank you Steve, Joey, Alicia, Jerry, and everyone who made this possible."
"Amazing. So helpful and encouraging… looking forward to class."

"Fast pace, so you need to catch on to everything quick. I enjoyed my experience here and had a great time and learned almost everything within just a 4-week span. Shout out to my instructor Tee! Awesome dude, and he really knows what he’s doing. Dude taught me the the right way to parallel park and my offset backing. Thanks Tee!"
"Great school from the begining to the end. I had no knowledge about trucking when I walked in, and I walked out with my CDL and vast of knowledge. Jerry, my classroom instructor—awesome guy. Alicia, my range instructor—no words to describe her knowledge when it comes to teaching. I passed my skills because of her techniques! If you ever get Alicia as your instructor (manual), pay attention to what she says, because she is awesome. Joe, the supervisor—great guy! Eli, as our school director, is a guy who listens to the students. I would definetely recommend this school."
"Appreciation goes out to Beth for working with us… she is very kind and gracious. Parallel parking was a struggle and was going to be the giving-up part, but she truly provided the motivation. This is fast-paced so PAY ATTENTION and don't waste your own time and money. John refuses to let his students fail, he really helps you to gather your thoughts and believe in yourself."
